The Cottage Exterior

The cottage sits on a little over an acre with 200 feet of beach on a cove about a mile south of the village of Westport, New York. The cottage is accessed from Worman Lane (photo left) that winds down a steep hill from New York's Route 9N.
You and your guests will have complete privacy at the cottage . Though four other houses share the cove, none can be seen from the house itself. You have an expansive view of Lake Champlain and Vermont's Green Mountains from the front of the house, yet you do not see the neighbors unless you are on the beach or in the water. There is a narrow yard in front and to the south of the house, with concrete stairs leading to the beach.
A small deck on the back of the house is a great place to read or talk, especially when the wind is coming off the lake. On afternoons when the wind is out of the northeast at 20 knots, you can notice a 15 degree difference in temperature between the front and back porches. The back yard is a great place to set up a bandminton game or hold a family wiffle ball tournament.
